Bio: Entering his fourth season with the Sounders, Midfielder Ben Somoza played 1134 minutes in 2005 notching one assist. In his three seasons with the Sounders, Somoza has scored two goals and has three assists helping the club reach the league championship match in two consecutive seasons.
The Edmonds, Wash. native was drafted in 2002 by the Portland Timbers after finishing his collegiate career at the University of Washington. In his final two seasons as a Husky Somoza scored 11 total goals, and led the Dawgs in points his senior season with 17 (five goals, seven assists). Somoza was named to the All-Pac 10 Team in both is junior and senior year.
