Bio: Sleeth joins the Sounders for his second season after playing 1,119 minutes and tallying three assists in the 2004 regular and playoff season combined. Sleeth was an original 1st round draft choice of Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire in 2002. With Chicago, Sleeth played in 13 games, starting seven and registering one assist. In 2003, Sleeth joined the Colorado Rapids, but did not play because of an injury. Playing college soccer for the University of Washington, Sleeth anchored a strong defense throughout his Husky career and was named to the all Pac-10 team his junior year. After college, Sleeth returned home to play for the Spokane Shadow of the Premier Development League (PDL) in 1999. He was a member of the United Soccer League’s Select Team that toured Portugal in 2001. That same year, Sleeth led the PDL Sounder Select team to an upset victory over the Dallas Burn in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Sleeth attended Ferris High School in Spokane where he led his team to a state championship as a senior. His team was ranked as high as ninth in the nation by the NSCAA/Umbro High School Soccer in 1997. Sleeth earned first team All-GSL honors as a junior defender and as a senior midfielder.
