Seattle Sounders in-form forward Roger Levesque was selected to the USL First Division Team of the Week after tallying a goal and an assist in the teams 3-2 victory in Rochester.
Levesque’s league play has only been part of the story. He stormed back into the Sounders line-up against Chivas USA (July 18) after being left out of the starting 11 for the Vancouver (July 12) match and created two assists and a goal that helped put the Sounders through to the US Open Cup quarter finals.
He created both goals in the 2-1 Sounders international friendly win over Preston North End from the Coca-Cola Championship in England to round out a series of three matches in seven days.
Next up for the Sounders is a trip to Vancouver Friday night for a nationally televised regular season match against the defending champion Whitecaps. The match will be broadcast live nationwide on Fox Soccer Channel at 8pm Pacific time. The match will also potentially be Sounders midfielder Kevin Sakuda’s 100th consecutive start for the club.
