The Seattle Sounders Youth Training
Program (YTP) is specifically designed to
teach players how to take their skills to
the next level of competitive soccer. YTP
participants will gain valuable knowledge
and experience that they can apply to
their game.
The YTP offers intense training sessions
aimed at improving a players overall
soccer performance. Training sessions
focus on drills to improve fundamentals,
scrimmages to work on game play and
conditioning geared towards speed and
acceleration. This program is designed
for select and premier level soccer
players who are looking to train hard
and improve their game.
The YTP emphasizes drills and hard
work to build a player's skill level. The
drills that are run during each session
will vary depending on the age group.
The following is an outline of the topics
that will be covered at each training
session.
Sessions 1 & 2 - Dribbling
Sessions 3 & 4 - Passing & Receiving
Sessions 5 & 6 - Shooting & Heading
Session 7 - Offensive / Defensive Tactics
Session 8 - Game Situations
Through participation in the
YTP, players will strengthen
their fundamentals, increase
knowledge and experience
of game situations and stay
in competitive physical
condition.
(Program runs 8 sessions - 1 session per week)
